What do you do in the winter, when it is to cold to spend much time outside?
I usually knit and crotchet over the winter, but we also, fine new things to do to cut boredom. We play board games and sometimes get new games.

Baby turkeys that we got today. My teenage son is taking them to the county fair in the fall.
My teenage son and I spent 2 1/2 hours in the car today to get baby turkeys. It was a fun adventure. It was windy and went through rain patches both ways.
When we got to the place for turkeys, we were looking them over and they were healthy. We only had one problem. We paid for 10 and only got 8. They had to call the person in charge as he already left for the day. He told them were to go to get the other 2.
We were on our way home. It was fairly quiet. Usually when we get chicks they are so noisy, and I cannot wait to get home. I guess because it was quiet my son slept most of the way home.
So what kinds of projects are you or your kids doing or looking forward to. Please post below. Happy Spring day to you.

Pigs two weeks ago
Pigs this week.
Day 2 of the ultimate blog challenge.
The kids wanted pigs this year and so they have taken over the dog pen.
The dog is in a new pen at night and acts like Houdini. He climbs walls and gets in with the pigs regularly. It nice out now and so the dog is outside in the day time.
Do you or your kids have any favorite animals? Post below.
This goat was born the end of last week. Only doe of the bunch.
The last 3 weeks have been filled with new born baby goats.
1st set of goats a few weeks ago.
I love this time of the year. Baby animals, and hopefully soon some flowers. We are getting out more now that the ice is gone.
Yesterday it was in the 60 and so the kids were playing soft ball outside.

Lavender is a plant that God made for us to use…
1. Lavender takes away aches and pains. When taking a bath with lavender soap, you will relax and will sleep well.
2. Lavender is anti bacterial. Using it when you wash-up from a fall, cut or scrape it will help prevent infection.
3. Lavender helps prevent itching from eczema.
4. Lavender helps clean sinuses when you have a cold or headache.
5. Lavender helps releave stress and anxiety.. Take a warm bath with lavender and relax your stresses away.
Hoping my lavender plant will start growing in the spring.
Give lavender a try… for it relaxing and anti bacterial qualities.
Debbie has a Goat Milk Soap business. Many of the soaps have different qualities to help the body… Goat milk has natural moisturizing qualities and naturally has alpha hydroxy. IF interested, her Etsy shop is here.
This winter my daughter and I have been working on yarn projects… Crocheting and Knitting and a nice relaxing way to spend a winter day.
My daughter is learning to purl this year and some other crocheting stitches. Many of her projects are going to be entered in the county fair. I am getting back to an old hobby that I had as a teen.
Here is a video on a a couple of things that I have been working on this year. Making prayer shawls for the sick at church makes you and the owner of the shawl feel happy and warm.
Share the projects that you have been working on this winter.

If Valentine’s Day,, a big day for you?
We make Valentine’s at home… Put hearts up everywhere. We like to do these types of things when the kids were little. Now we make Valentine’s for the Grandkids, ie… nieces and nephews.
Valentine’s Day…St. Valentine —— The origin of St. Valentine, and how many St. Valentines there were, remains a mystery. One opinion is that he was a Roman martyred for refusing to give up his Christian faith. Go here for the rest of the store.
Whatever the background… We need to show our love everyday not one day a year.
So be kind to you Valentine’s on Valentine’s Day and year round.
